Baloch residents of Karachi held a protest rally from Arts Council to Karachi Press Club, against the killing of BSO-Azad’s central Secretary General Raza Jahangeer and BNM’s leader Imdad Baloch. The BSO-Azad had given the call for protest.
The participants of rally were carrying placards and banners inscribed with different slogans against the forces aggression and Baloch genocide. While addressing the rally, BSO-Azad’s leaders said on 14 August forces besieged and attacked the house of BNM’s leader Imdad Baloch in Absar area of Turbat, and killed the central Secretary General of BSO-Azad, Raza Jahangir and a leader of BNM Imdad Baloch. To conceal their brutal attack and murder of peaceful Baloch political activists forces later claimed that these men were terrorists.
They further said Martyr Raza Jahangir and Martyr Imdad Baloch were political leaders. Forces extra-judicially murdered them like thousands of other Baloch political leaders and activists. State has been violating the International Laws by killing peaceful Baloch political activists affiliated with the Balochistan’s movement, who are struggling for deliverance.
Expressing their dissatisfaction over the role of United Nation and the rest of international community the protesters said that United Nations and International community turned a blind eye to Baloch genocide and kept silent over State atrocities against Baloch people. Backing their argument the protesters said, “The attack on peaceful Baloch protesters in Turbat, and afterwards, the killing of Baloch leaders Raza Jahangir and Imdad Baloch at a time when the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon was present in Pakistan and was busy in praising its army. It illustrates that UN instead of keeping an eye on Pakistan’s human rights record has been giving importance to secondary issues.”
The speakers said that Baloch student Raza Jangir had mobilized the Baloch nation by giving them awareness about the Baloch national existence and freedom from the platform of BSO, and continued the struggle of thousands of Baloch martyrs and prisoners held in state cells. BSO-Azad already has been proscribed and put it in the list of extremist religious groups in an attempt to justify the killing and abduction of Baloch students. By proscribing the Baloch student organization state authorities want to get away with murder of BSO’s leader and activists including Kambar Chakar, Comrade Qayum, Shafi Baloch, Waheed Balach and several others. They also said that BSO Azad leader Zakir Majeed and several activists are still languishing in cells and facing inhumane treatment.
Speakers while addressing the protest rally have said that, ‘’the all occupied nations of world got freedom because of their struggle and sacrifices’’. Today Baloch nation is also performing their national duty for the emancipation of their land and people, while state for sustaining her occupation is busy in countering the philosophy of autonomy.
Speakers while criticizing the role of International community and flag-bearers of human rights said, “They are criminally silent about the state crimes and Baloch genocide in Balochistan, and which is a question mark to the credibility and their claims of equal rights for all.’’
